The Marymass Parade will go ahead as planned - with a scare-mongering article about a horse disease in another local paper being blasted as exaggerated.

The Captain of the Carters Danny Kerr has rubbished claims made in another newspaper saying that an outbreak of horse flu was threatening the traditional Marymass parade.

He said the disease, which was found in two horses in Stewarton, was just "someting that happened" and had never posed any real threat to horses involved in the parade.
