A STEWARTON man who was caught with a cannabis plant on his veranda has narrowly avoided being sent to prison.

William Graham was confronted by police when they forced entry to his home in David Dale Avenue on October 26.

The unemployed labourer was in his second floor flat just after 7pm when officers arrived in possession of a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
