ONE of the most important people in Scotland's Indian community is coming to Ayrshire for the first time ever - with a visit to Irvine.

The Ayrshire Sikh Association, who meet in the Woodlands Centre in Irvine, were overjoyed to secure a visit from the ullustrious Consulate General of India for Scotland Mr Amil Kumar Anand.

Chairman of the Sikh group, Irvine shopkeeper Paul Singh, said they were eager to welcome the dinitary so they could showcase the great work taking place between deiffewrent ethnic groups in our area.

He said: "We are definitely excited about the visit. We launched the event and are spearheading it."
