ALARMING RISE OF JOBLESS IN IRVINE

THE DISTURBING number of people unemployed across Irvine and Kilwinning is once again on the rise, according to new figures.
In December last year 40 more people claimed Job Seekers Allowance than in November.
In total, the number of unemployed claimants for December in Central Ayrshire was 2,667, with the figure at 2627 in November - an increase of 40.
Irvine MP Brian Donohoe this week blasted both the UK and Scottish Governments for not doing enough to tackle the unemployment problem.
He said: "The whole of Ayrshire is suffering with a rise in benefit claimants in every Ayrshire constituency and it is very worrying."
