KILLED AFTER HE SMASHED INTO BACK OF BROKEN LORRY

A VAN driver was killed after crashing into the back of a broken down lorry on a road with no hard shoulder, an inquiry has heard.

Leonard Sharp, 64, died of multiple injuries after his Ford Transit van stuck an Iveco truck on the A71 bypass near Dreghorn.

The accident happened just over a mile east of the Corsehill Mount roundabout, a fatal accident inquiry at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court was told.
