FINALLY, IRVINE FUEL PRICES FALL

THE PRICE of fuel in Irvine has finally fallen to the same level as other Ayrshire towns - following the opening of Sainsbury's petrol station.

Just a few months ago, the cost of a litre of petrol in Irvine was five or six pence higher than in Ayr or Kilmarnock, leaving many motorists furious.

But Irvine MP Brian Donohoe, who took local concerns to Westminster, this week said he was pleased to see prices had now fallen.
