IRVINE WILL GET £500K UNDER ITS BELT FROM KARATE CONTEST
THE EUROPEAN Karate Championships, set to take place in Irvine, will boost the local economy by half a million pounds, according to council estimates.
The Magnum Leisure Centre will host the 4th WUKF European Karate Championships for Seniors and Veterans in June and NAC's Executive are set to meet this week to discuss the "considerable contribution" made to the economy and community.
This is the first time the championships have been hosted in the UK, and a real win for Irvine, after local organisers Thorn Travel secured the Magnum over a London venue.
