STUDENTS HOST FORCES FUNDRAISER EVENT WITH HONEYS FOR HEROES
STUDENTS at James Watt College are hosting a live music and fashion extravaganza to raise money for the Armed Forces.
The 'Fashion 4 Fighters' event at the North Ayrshire Campus in Kilwinning will be attended by 'Honeys for Heroes', an elite modelling team who aim to raise the morale of troops at home and abroad and raise funds for a variety of UK Armed Forces charities, including Help For Heroes.
The evening will include live music from local musicians Sean Kennedy, Amy Howe, Chris Suckle from coverband Superfly and an appearance from 'Haggis the piper'.
There will also be a fashion show from local designer boutique 'The Dressing Room', with Honeys for Heroes modelling some of the new spring collection.
The event, which is being held on Thursday 1st March, is being organised by students studying for their HND Administration & Information Technology as part of a final year project.
Student Wendy Parker, from Irvine, said: "We are delighted that the Honeys for Heroes models are attending on the night and the armed forces will also have a supportive presence.
"Our fundraising target is £1,000 which we are hoping to reach between ticket sales and raffles, and the Dressing Room has kindly offered to give us 15% commission on all sales on the evening."
The event will run between 5.30 and 8.30pm and Tickets are priced at £3 and can be purchased in the college hub or in the Dressing Room in Saltcoats. Tickets can also be bought on the door on the night bewtween 5 and 5.30pm.
