THIEVES stole more than �56,000 worth of iPads and laptops from primary schools in North Ayrshire last year, the Times can exclusively reveal.
Figures obtained by the Times through Freedom of Information reveal that thefts of tablets, laptops, macbooks and e-readers cost education chiefs a whopping �56,567 in 2012 alone.
According to our documents, North Ayrshire Council bought 522 iPads, 328 laptops, 14 e-readers and three tablets last year - at a cost of �292,170.
