THE NEXT outing for the Cunninghame Ramblers will be a walk on Saturday, October 11 near Wanlockhead in the Leadhills area of Dumfries and Galloway.

The walk will be led by John Duffy (Tel. No.07811284899). This will be a challenging walk on a route known as the Enterkine Burn Trail.

On Tuesday, October 14 the group will remain in North Ayrshire and walk in the hills behind Fairlie.

This walk will be led by Booby Bell (Tel. No. 01294-239214).

This walk will follow a uphill path on the foot of Kaim Hill to ascend up onto Fairlie Moor en route to Blaeloch Hill and the Blaeloch (Blue Loch) that gives its name to the hill.

A site of two aircraft crashes in the distant past the location is set at about 1200 feet on an area of open moorland.

The route is graded as a moderate walk Anyone requiring further information regarding a walk is invited to discuss the details with the walk leader on the phone number indicated above.

The meeting point for departing on the walk will be at the new car park off East Road adjacent to Aldi in Irvine. Participants are advised to arrive in good time to allow for a prompt departure at 9am.

New walkers are welcome to participate in up to four walks prior to being required to take a membership of the Ramblers Association. Membership gives an entitlement to participate in the walking programmes of all the Ramblers Association groups throughout the United Kingdom. Within Ayrshire there are three groups located around Irvine, Kilmarnock and Ayr who organise weekly walks within the South and West of Scotland.
