AN IRVINE councillor is teaming up with a police inspector to host a joint surgery this Saturday.
Inspector Jim McMillan will join Irvine West Councillor Ian Clarkson at his drop-in surgery at the Vineburgh Community Centre at 12pm.
The event will give residents a unique opportunity to provide information and seek advice from both the police and their local councillor under one roof.
Inspector McMillan insists the surgery will be a useful method in gauging what issues are affecting residents in the area.
Councillor Clarkson is encouraging residents to take up the invitation and come along on the day.
Speaking this week, he said: “I am delighted Inspector McMillan will be attending my surgery on Saturday.
“There are often times when constituents are reluctant to go to the police, either to give information or to receive advice, and this informal setting will provide a relaxed environment for residents to share with us both.
“As always, anyone from the local community is welcome to come along, and I would encourage you all to take advantage of this joint approach.” Inspector McMillan, added: “Being relatively new to the area, I welcome this opportunity to meet with members of the community who may have concerns, or who just wish to talk things over. “I would also like to thank Councillor Clarkson for inviting me along to share his surgery. I look forward to meeting you all.”
