RUNNERS in Irvine and Kilwinning are being urged to sign up and take part in the Colour Dash for Ayrshire Hospice.

The Ayrshire Hospice Colour Dash is the first to be held in Ayrshire and will take place in Eglinton Park on Sunday, August 30.

The event is guaranteed to be the most colourful, fun 5k you’ll ever run!

Participants don’t have to run - you can walk, skip or dance the distance. Prepare for a kaleidoscope of colour to rain down over you and your fellow runners every kilometre, leaving you looking like a rainbow.

There will be a variety of entertainment to get you warmed up beforehand and more afterwards, when you can sit back and enjoy your well-deserved hot dog or burger.

The registration fee which includes a t-shirt, sunglasses and a Colour Dash medal is £20 for adults and £10 for under 16’s (who must be accompanied by an adult) children aged five and under are free. A family ticket of two adults and two children is £50.

Sisters Kirsty Broadfoot from Troon and Joyce Walker from Barassie, along with their children Katie, Kara and Olivia, have signed up to Ayrshire’s first ever Colour Dash in memory of their mum and gran.

Mary Drummond, Senior Fundraising Officer, said “We are delighted that Kirsty and Joyce, along with their families have signed up to support the hospice by taking part in Colour Dash. They are really keen to encourage even more families to sign up and join them, so if you fancy some fun, there are still spaces available - give us a call!” For more information or to register call the Ayrshire Hospice events team on 01292 288488 or email events@ayrshirehospice.org.
