COMMUNITY activists have transformed a graffiti covered underpass - with a little help from their friends.
Building and maintenance company Laidlaw Scott stepped in when residents living near the Lint Brae underpass in Stewarton decided to clean up and paint over the unsightly graffiti covering the walls.
Bosses sent a painter and decorator to work alongside volunteers.
And the joint effort ended with the once dark and dingy underpass being turned into a bright, clean and whitewashed walkway leading to the nearby Nether Robertland School.
The vandalised state of the underpass had been raised as an issue at a meeting of Stewarton Community Council and local residents Bruce and Kristina Mcaualy decided they would do something about it.
