A STEWARTON company is going all the way to the South Pole as part of the first 'clean' research station in Antarctica.

Proven Energy is providing eight wind turbines over the coming year to provide energy for Belgium"s Princess Elisabeth Antarctic Station.

In the past such turbines have been seen as too flimsy for the extreme weather at the poles. But the Stewarton company has proven otherwise.
