LEGENDARY Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has confirmed he is coming to Glasgow to shoot a new blockbuster.

Indian cinema’s most prominent and well-known face sent fans into a spin on Twitter after revealing upcoming thriller Badla (Revenge) has started shooting in Scotland’s biggest city.

Extending his best wishes to director Sujoy Ghosh on Thursday, the 75-year-old veteran star wrote: “‘BADLA’, the film starts now... I mean NOW in Glasgow... all the very best Sujoy... fatafati...! Joining you soon... and greetings to the Producer and Production teams and crew...”

The only thing that has been revealed about the film’s plot is that it focuses on “an investigation into an accidental death.” The film is ablso believe to be based on a Spanish story.

Actress Taapsee Pannu, 30, has already touched down in Scotland as shooting got underway.

Having already acted alongside Bachchan, she replied to his tweet: “All set to repeat the magic.”

Director Ghosh, 52, posted an image of himself goofing around on the set with Pannu, and said: “This @taapsee is driving me nuts! (and only one day of shoot).”

Bachchan has appeared in close to 200 Indian films in a career spanning almost five decades.

More recently, he featured in Hollywood hit The Great Gatsby in 2013 in which he played non-Indian, Jewish character, Meyer Wolfsheim.
