WE hear everyday about how hard it is to lose fat, get fit or become motivated to get off your couch and do some exercise.

When it’s all said and done losing fat does not have to be difficult or complicated. Forget about what macros to count or what fancy new form of class or training plan you should do, just stick with the basics to get you moving and the fat loss will come.

Here are a few pointers to get you on the road to losing fat and creating a better healthier lifestyle for yourself and ultimately your family as well.

Drink water – not calorie-laden sports drinks, diluting juices or fizzy juices just drink that damn water.

Bottled water, filtered water, tap water whatever just make sure you start your day with water, end your day with water, drink it when you train, with meals and your fat loss journey will be off to an amazing start.

This will flush out the toxins, rid your body of the unwanted retained water as well as provide a fat burning effect your body will thank you for – simple.

Move! – That’s right, get off your couch and go do something. Whether it’s a sport, getting out with the kids going for a walk or getting to the gym or a class just get moving. Burning extra calories each and every day will mean your body, in turn will start to lose fat.

Lift weights – you’ll hear it all the time these days but lifting weights and building lean muscle is the greatest way to set your metabolism on overdrive and burn that fat you want rid of as well as strengthening your joints and bones and building that bum of steel you’ve been dreaming of.

Get some help if your not sure where to start, there are lots of great personal trainers out there. Follow them on Facebook, Instagram or get in touch and we can help. If you don’t want to set foot in a gym for whatever reason there is always a way. Lift big and you’ll reap the rewards. Lifting weights won’t mean you’ll look like a body builder, there’s a lot of other factors that need to be in place before those changes can happen if they can happen at all so get that weight and pick it up.

Forget working five-day splits or, drop sets or whatever other confusing thing the guys in the gym suggest. Just get lifting. You can get more technical with it as time goes on and you learn and perfect your techniques.

Eat better food – eating food as close to nature as possible will always be the best route to overall health, lots of fruit, vegetables, meats and fish as well as quality butters, oils and cheeses will help you on the route to better health. When you have your diet looking good then you can delve deeper and become more technical with your intake. For starters though I would solely be concerned with creating good habits. Protein with every meal, eating your good quality carb sources like rice’s, fruits, vegetables and oats and taking in lots of good quality fats.

Cut down on that stress – manage your time and your day better and allocating some time to switch off, nap or just enjoy some family time can have a huge effect on your fat loss. Your body will hold onto its fat when you are stressed and over worked so take that time and use it wisely. Work can wait, your family time and relaxation time cannot.

Those are the things you cannot get back. Work can be caught up on or managed to be better time efficient.

Don’t forget we will be launching our own member’s gym on Saturday, July 25th so keep an eye out for more information coming soon. Progress has been awesome so we cannot wait for you all to see what we have to offer.
