DETERMINED Irvine Meadow winger Gary McCann says his side must aim to win their next two games to improve their league position after returning to form on Saturday.
Medda defeated Dunbar United 3-0 away in the Scottish Junior Cup second round, a week after suffering an 8-0 drubbing away to Troon in the Super Premier Division which left them in bottom spot.
McCann was encouraged with the effort and said: "I was pleased with how we played on Saturday, we showed some glimpses of our best football. The next two games, at Beith on Saturday and away to Glenafton Athletic the following week are must win games for us or I really feel we could struggle as we have still to play the likes of Hurlford and Auchinleck. But if we win we can push up the table.
"Firstly we must focus on the Beith game. We beat them 7-2 a few weeks ago but tit will be a different game. If we play to our capabilities I think we can win the match. "
Manager Stevie Rankin can take positives from the result but is fully focused on Saturday and said: "Beith had a great win in the Scottish Cup, scoring 10 goals. We really must get more points under our belts and will be looking to win but know it will be very tough."
Meanwhile Irvine Vics were out of action on Saturday with their scheduled league game away to Dalry Thistle called off owing to a waterlogged pitch. Saturday sees them facing improving Muirkirk away.
