EXPERIENCED Kilwinning Rangers striker Ian Cashmore finally bagged his 100th goal as Buffs defeated Clydebank 4-2 to move up to sixth in the Super First Division.

But the 32-year old targetman, in his third spell at Abbey Park, modestly shrugged off his milestone, saying results were more important than personal landmarks

He said after being presented with a cake on Monday night: "Of course it was nice to finally reach 100 goals and I'm sure my dad would have been proud. It must have been the first time I have run from the halfway line to score,. But the result is more important than my milestone. It was a really important win and we are going well. There's a long way to go but hopefully we can now start challenging at the top of the table. We have really good strikers in Ben Lewis and Bryan Boylan who are playing so well and keeping me out of the starting line-up."

Manager Chris Strain Jnr was delighted with the win and said: "We played really well in the first half and they came back into it after the break but their goals came from the only real chances. they had. I was pleased Cashy got his 100th goal. No-one deserves it more than him.

"We have a big game at Cumbernauld on Saturday but must aim to keep up our momentum by winning,"

Meanwhile Buffs last week confirmed that young striker Calvin Kemp has signed for League One senior side Stranraer.

Cashmore added:: "Calvin is a talented player and this is a great opportunity for him."
