CLARK DRIVE Under-15s headed to Lanarkshire on Saturday morning to play their penultimate match of the season.

The Irvine side started brightly with Nicola Fisher crossing from the left and Devon Cunningham with a great finish putting them 1-0 up in just four minutes.

Drive continued to apply pressure and played some great football. Their efforts soon paid off when Megan latched on to a great through ball and finished in the corner to make it 2-0. She soon notched her second in 27 minutes and Nicola Fisher scored a minute later from a corner., making it 4-0 at half-time.

The second half should have been comfortable for Clark Drive but they conceded an early goal and the girls seemed to drop in tempo. Clark Drive couldn't keep possession of the ball as Hamilton made a few substitution bringing on more experienced players. This had a big impact and Hamilton scored three quick goals in concession and looked to be in control of the game.

Clark Drive eventually seemed to get back into the game and created a few chances with Megan and Caitlyn McMillan both having shots on target.

Kari Stewart then ran onto a ball over the top and slid the ball under the keeper to make it 5-4. With a minute remaining the points seemed to be going to Clark Drive until a ball over the top of their defence was controlled and finished by the Hamilton striker making it 5-5 and finishing with a point apiece.

It was a harsh lesson for the young Clark Drive girls who should have seen the game out comfortably, but they deserve great credit for their style of play.

The Under-15s travelled to Grangemouth on Sunday to complete their season against second-placed Central Girls and turned in a superb performance.

They went in 2-0 up at half time through goals from Isla Burns and Kari Stewart, who was constant threat to the central team. They completed the scoring right at the death when Megan pounced on a defensive error allowing Kari to score from 18 yards.

The girls looked solid from the first minute with Amy Cox producing her best display of the season and partner in crime Erin Kerr also strolled through the game.

The two full-backs Rosy and Holly were terrific and no-one got past either of them.

Erin Porter played wide right and held her position brilliantly, while Nicola Fisher on the left was her usual self, always dangerous with her left foot.

Isla a showed great control and vision in a muddy midfield and Devon, who usually plays wide left played through the middle, producing her best 35 minutes of the season.

Upfront Megan Armstrong and Kari were dangerous and substitute Caitlyn McMillan showed outstanding skills in midfield.

Goalkeeper Mellanie Jones had her first shutout of the season and proved to us and herself she has the desire and ability to do well.

Drive would like to thank Central Girls for their sportsmanship in defeat.

The club's annual presentation is on November 21.
