LAST Monday saw the Fullarton Wheelers undertake the second event in their Winter League indoor race schedule.

The 33 entrants tackled a bumpy five-mile route starting with a -5/-6% downhill which quickly changes to a testing eight-per ceent ramp uphill. This had everyone pushing themselves father to achieve their best possible time.

Top honours went to Darren Kean with a time of 11:10, while second equal were Gordon Stead and Dave Walker, with Derek Skinner taking third in 11:52.

Fastest lady was Catherine Logan in 14:06 with Aileen Clyde some 56 seconds back.

It appears that there are a number of head-to-head battles taking shape in the contest this year, which has brought out that healthy competitive instinct in the club.

Last Wednesday saw the youth section tackling the same course with some very impressive times.

Top spot went to Cameron Broadfoot in 16:04 quickly followed by Harry McGarvie and Ben Allen with 16:22 and 16:44 respectively.

Top girl was Zoe Watters in 16:35
