IRVINE Running Club ace David Millar was voted Ayrshire Harriers Veteran Athlete of the Year at the AGM of Ayrshire Harriers Clubs last week.
The 46-year-old has recorded another superb season of successes at road and cross-country events all over Scotland.
In addition to becoming Scottish cross-country champion at M45 level Millar finished as first M40 in all nine open road races which he competed in. His race times were of an incredibly consistent standard achieving an average of over 90 [per cent based on the World Masters Athletic comparison tables.
Unfortunately Millar's last triumph at the Cumbrae 10mile RR in September aggravated an Achilles tendon injury and he has not raced since but he is hopeful of a return to winning ways early in 2016.
