REVITALISED striker Ian Cashmore aims to continue his rich vein of form by helping Kilwinning Rangers progress to the last 16 of the ETHX Energy Scottish Junior Cup.

Buffs on Saturday host Midlothian side Arniston Rangers in a rearranged fourth round tie at Abbey Park.

And Cashmore, who has sharpened up his fitness, goes into the match on form with three goals in his last three games.

He told Sporttimes: "We expect a difficult tie as Arniston must be a decent side to get to this stage of the competition. But we fancy our chances against anyone at home and have played well in all the cup ties. We have good strikers in Ben Lewis, Bryan Boylan and Ross Stewart. and there is competition for placce but i want t keep playing. I have been working on my fitness and feel much sharper. If we win we are in the last 16 but we can't get too far ahead. We have a good squad and it was great bringing in an experienced player like Martyn Campbell."

Boss Chris Strain Jnr is looking forward to the match and said: "It will be a test but hopefully with home advantage we will come through."

Buffs held a meeting with fans on Friday to keep them informed with on and off-the-field developments. with 40 people attending.

New Irvine Meadow manager Davie Greig is desperately hoping to make his dugout debut on Saturday after the club were out of action for the second week running.

The scheduled ETHX Energy Fourth Round clash away to Linlithgow Rose was called off owing to a frozen pitch and is now re-scheduled for Saturday.

Greig was set to run the rule over Rose by taking in their William Hill Scottish Cup Fourth Round replay away to Forfar Athletic last night (Tuesday).

He is pleased with how preparations are going and said : "We have a few training sessions under our belts and the guys are all looking forward to the tie. It's a massive match for us and we know they are a good side but we are going there to win the tie."

Chris Hall is set to miss out with a groin injury and fellow striker Ross McPherson (foot injury) is rated doubtful.

Meanwhile Irvine Victoria midfielder/defender Davie Wilson is set be sidelined for up to 12 weeks as he needs a shoulder operation.

Boss Stevie Wilson said: "Davie suffered a shoulder injury against Talbot last season but played on but he was told he needs surgery."

Vics are at Dalry Thistle on Saturday and Wilson said: "It was frustrating having no game again but the boys are working hard. Hopefully it goes ahead and we take three points."
