SUCCESSES were celebrated by Irvine aces at the Ayrshire Schools Badminton Association event at Grange Academy on Saturday.

Irvine Junior Badminton Club’s players won all titles at Primary level.

In the boys singles, Jake Sangar (Heathfield Primary) was top of his pool, meeting last year's winner Angus Meldrum (Dundonald Primary) in the semi-finals.

After a great contest Jake came out winner beating team-mate Angus, 21-16.

Jake then beat went Leo McMillan (Glebe Primary) 21-13 in the final.

Angus Meldrum and Finn Mullen (Dundonald Primary) won the boys doubles, defeating Leo McMillan and Logan Harwood (Glebe Primary) 21-15 in the final.

Zara Kirkwood (Glebe Primary) won the Primary girls singles. A round robin format was played to contest the title. Zara beat Eva Tremble (Glebe Primary) 21-19, Lily Davies (Glebe Primary) 21-9, Bobby Whittie (Crosshouse Primary) 21-6 and Imogen Meldrum (Dundonald Primary) 21-13. Eva Tremble retired and Lily Davies was runner-up.

In the girls doubles Zara Kirkwood paired with Eva Tremble (Glebe Primary) to beat Lily Davies and Leona Simpson ( Glebe Primary) 21-9.

Meanwhile in the final of the Secondary Schools Under-14, event, Alan Singleton (Greenwood Academy). lost to Scott McKee (Auchinleck Academy).
