AMATEUR FOOTBAL

DIRRANS Athletic crashed out of the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup after going down 3-2 at home to Jordanhill in a fifth round tie.

The Kilwinning side conceded two last minute goals and will also be kicking themselves after failing to make their chances count.

In the first 15 minutes, Dirrans missed at least four great scoring opportunities. However they deservedly took the lead when a ball from Graeme Muir was forced over line by player-manager Jason Stewart following a deflection.

Jordanhill levelled after converting a soft penalty.

In the second half Dirrans kept plugging away and a great move involving Graeme Muir and Cochrane was finished off by Logan Stevenston. The game was looking like finishing that way with Jordanhill still not having a shot on goal.

However with three minutes to go a short back pass was picked up by the visiting striker who rounded Ross Stewart to make it 2-2. Then in the last minute the home defence failed to clear a cross and a visiting player slotted home to seal victory.
