WORRIED Irvine Meadow boss Davie Greig says his side have a mountain to climb if they want to survive in the Super Premier Division.

Meadow lost 3-2 away to Arthurlie after blowing a 2-0 lead to stay anchored in bottom spot.

Dejected Greig said: "We threw the game away and lost a couple of cheap goals. The third came from a debatable free-kick and we missed some chances. We will keep battling to stay up but have left ourselves with a mountain to climb. Now we must look to beat Glenafton at home on Saturday."Ne

New signing Ryan McGarry, who made his debut on Saturday, suffered a foot injury and will almost certainly miss the Glens game.

Meanwhile Kilwinning Rangers defender Barry Fleeting is positively relishing Saturday's ETHX Energy Scottish Junior Cup quarter-final clash with Camelon at Abbey Park as Buffs aim to continue their drean journey in the showpiece event.

Buffs maintained their six-month unbeaten run by drawing 2-2 with Ardrossan Winton Rovers on Saturday.

Fleeting, who reached the semi-finals with Dalry Thistle five years ago said: " Camelon are a top side and had a good win against Kelty in the last round. We are underdogs but that suits us and hopefully we can go through. We have some good young players and did well to beat Linlithgow in the last round."

Manager Chris Strain Jnr is hopeful of progress and told Sportscene: "We have had a great run in the Scottish Cup and hopefully that continues on Saturday. The people of the town have backed us so well and hopefully they turn out and really get behind us.

"Camelon are a strong side and are favourites as the East Super League team. But we look forward to it and will play our usual attacking style. "

Meanwhile Irvine Victoria boss Stevie Wilson heaped praise on his side as they defeated Ardeer Thistle 2-1 away to stay 10 points clear the top of the Ayrshire District League.

He said later: "Credit to our boys - they have come here and rolled their sleeves up. It is a hard place to come, against a decent side. We were a bit lacking in the final third , but created lots of chances and I am happy with the three points. We finished the game well, having been the stronger team in the second half. We had most of the possession while Ardeer were camped in their 18-yard box."

Vics on Saturday are away to Lugar, who are the the last team to defeat them and Wilson said: "We are unbeaten since then but are looking to take three points,"
