DIRRANS ATHLETIC 4

MOSSBLOWN BOSWELL

VICTORY for Dirrans was overshadowed by a horrible injury to double goalscorer Alan Frew.

With four minutes remaining Frew broke away and with the visiting goalie advancing he brilliantly shot into the top corner. With Dirrans players on the sideline celebrating all thoughts then went to Frew who didn't move after the keeper collided with him when the ball went in.

He went to hospital after the match and after an x-ray it was found he had suffered a triple leg break and had to undergo an operation on Sunday.

Back to the action and Dirrans needed a win to try and claw back the points in the league. They were dealt a blow 15 minutes in when the Mossblown striker got on end of a pass to put his side ahead.

The hosts then started to pass the ball better and created a few chances and pulled a goal back thanks to a great free-kick from Brian Strain.

In the second half Mossblown went ahead again but Dirrans upped their game and a great move involving Muir and Cochrane ended with Scott Milne slotting home to make it 2-2.

Frew then came in from the left before drilling the ball home and putting his side in front before scoring again and going down injured.

Mossblown pulled a goal back right on full-time, despite the goalscorer looking a yard offside.

Everyone at Dirrans wishes Alan Frew a speedy recovery.
