A SCOTTISH snooker team featuring a host of Ayrshire players lost out to the Auld Enemy in a recent challenge match.
The West of Scotland team,. the reigning Scottish County Champions, who are all Ayrshire-based - represented Scotland against English County champions the Merseyside League in the inaugural Snooker County Champions challenge at the Q Club in Glasgow.
The English side lifted the Raeburn Place Trophy. following a high class display which included the day's highest break of 104 by Danny Thomas.
West of Scotland Snooker League organisers would like to thank Thomas Moran, Billy Henderson and Andy Molyneux for many months of hard work in organising what was a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Making up the West of Scotland team were: Allan Duffy, Ian Reid - Ardrossan Unionist Club; Ian Craig and Graeme Innes - all Ardrossan Unionist Club; Billy Henderson, Graeme Sillars, Campbell Dunlop, Jim Harris - all Irvine Snooker Club; Niven Adam, Billy Brown, Sandy Lorimer, Stefan Goudie, Alan Hall -all Davis Club Ayr and Mark Lennox (Lochbarr Snooker Club).
