THE cold weather didn’t prevent a large turnout of Irvine runners at the weekend’s Parkrun at Eglinton on Saturday morning but the icy conditions required a slightly altered route.
The first three positions in the run were taken by Irvine runners, with Billy Richardson, sharpening up his preparations for the Scottish Masters Cross Country Championships in Dundee at the end of the month. He was first home in a time of 16:55. Paul Lafferty (18:11) and Alan Douglas (18:23) followed to take second and third positions respectively.
Jim Sneddon (20:18) was next to finish to maintain his lead at the top of the annual points table and was closely followed by John Miller (20:41) and John Surgenor (21:04).
The Irvine line-up was completed by fine runs from Mike Flinn (23:16), Jim White (23:54), Liz Colquhoun (27:40), Jennie Jackson (27:41), Ian McManus (34:46) and Madeleine Patterson (35:28).
