IRVINE group Ron's Runners got a special shout out this week at the Hillbilly 10k for having the most entered club members.

The race in run in Dalmellington and organised by Butterfly Events who raise funds for Cancer Research. This was the third annual Hillbilly and 12 members of Ron's Runners enjoyed the scenic route, on a beautiful sunny morning, that starts in Craigengillan Estate and takes in some beautiful countryside with a lot of hills and mud along the way.

First club finisher across the line was Andy Stewart in an impressive 49.23 followed by John Owens 46.59, Neil Kyle 49.42, Mark Garton 56.21, Hughie Hood 57.28, Pamela Porteous 59.47, Hazel Anderson 61.11, Gemma Davidson 62.36, David Ridout 63.02, Angela Stroyan 63.11, Sharon Crombie and Melanie Sinclair completed the club runners, finishing in 69.52.

In this week's Eglinton Parkrun, 13 club runners took part, Cameron Miller was first home for the club in an impressive 19.46 followed by Andy Stewart, 20.39, Hugh Hood 23.43, Mark Garton 23.58. First club lady over the line was Jennifer Shaw 24.34, Fiona Wyper 25.32, Ruth McLaughlan 26.03, Pamela Porteous 26.13, Graeme Shaw 27.28, Rachel Wood 29.16, Carol Rome 29.17, Lynn Shearer 31.13 and Eric Pearson crossed the finish line in 33.01.

Ron's Runners will host their second annual 5k spring race on Wednesday, April 19 at Irvine Beach Park. The run is a mix of road and trail and received excellent feedback from last years participants. Everyone is welcome to enter and details can be found online at Entry Central.

Ron's Runners meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 6pm at the bottom of the Rivergate centre in Irvine.
