ANGRY Kilwinning Rangers boss Chris Strain slammed two refereeing decisions which cost his struggling side as they lost 3-1 away to Beith.

The result leaves Buffs in third bottom spot, four points behind Kilbirnie Ladeside, over whom they have two games in hand.

Buffs had Joe Coleman sent off late on for foul and abusive language and Darren Moffat followed him into the pavilion after being sent packing for a tackle.

Strain said: "It was absolutely ridiculous what the guys were sent off but referees have not put us in this position, we have. Joe swore but not at the referee but he took upon himself to send him off. The referee is the only person who thought it was a sending off for Darren Moffat. He is a winger and just clipped the boy but he sent him off, it was a shambolic decision. Other decisions have gone against us so we will just have to get on with it."

Strain, however felt his side lacked commitment at Beith and said: "What disappointed me was the lack of urgency which has been apparent in recent games. We are in vital need of points and waiting for things to happen rather than making them happen. When we scored to make it 2-1 we looked like getting the equaliser but it was just a 20-minute spell and Beith deserved to win."

Buffs tonight (Wednesday) host Darvel in the Ayrshire Weekly Press Cup.

Strain said: "We lost to Darvel in the West of Scotland Cup last week and will be looking to make sure we go through."
