Under-15s South West League Cup Final

KSC GIRLS 2

KILMARNOCK GIRLS 1

KSC made the trip to Hampden to contest an eagerly anticipated cup final.

There was a nervy start to proceedings as the surface ensured the pace of the game was fast. Beth Baird swung in a corner-kick which was brilliantly volleyed home by Aimee Taggart to put the North Ayrshire side in front.

A few minutes later Baird got on the scoresheet, slotting the ball to the goalie's right and into the net as KSC doubled their advantage.

After the restart Kilmarnock looked like scoring and got their rewards when their striker ran onto a long through ball and placed it beyond the Killie goalie and into the net.

This made for a nervous conclusion to the game but the KSC defence dealt comfortably with the pressure from Kilmarnock and ensured the long balls through the middle were dealt with comfortably by the home defence.

With chances falling in the second half, Kerry Hutcheon, Taggart and Baird, the Kilwinning side were unlucky not to add to their tally but they held on to celebrate a memorable triumph.
