INSPIRED Irvine bounced back from a two-game losing streak on Saturday.

They swept aside Dumfriesshire visitors RWS Forestry St Michael's in a one-sided Western First Division match.

The home side batted first and posted a score of 204 for 9 from their allotted 50 overs.

Top batsmen were overseas amateur Brandon Harwood and Mohsin Ali, who put on a partnership of 150. Ali hit 75 and Harwood fired 48 before being dismissed in the same over.

The visitors were demolished by the Irvine bowling attack as they ended on 86 all out.

Jonathan Waspe picked up 3 for 13. He had a hat-trick early in the game, taking all three wickets in successive balls.

Harwood completed a fine all-round performance with 3 for 10 and Hafeez Muthair took 3 for 17 as Irvine enjoyed a thumping 118-run victory.

It was a fine team performance, although Harwood and Ali were in great form with the bat and Waspe was in great form with the ball, skittling out the opening St Michael's batsmen.

Sunday saw Irvine take on Premier Division Kelburne in a home Western Cup match.

They restricted the visitors to 208 for 8 in 40 overs, Ali taking 3 for 34 and Indy Singh 2-46,

However the hosts were 56 all out in 11 overs, giving them a 152-run victory.
