NEW Irvine Meadow boss Ross Wilson this week made the first two additions to his playing squad as the club's management team was also unveiled.

Meadow have landed midfielder Ryan Carnwath (22) from Junior team East Kilbride Thistle and former Kilbirnie Ladeside and Arthurlie striker Eddie McTernan (24) who scored 16 goals in the Super Premier Division last season.

Wilson, who took charge last month is excited by his captures and said: "Both are combative players and I'm sure they will endear themselves to the fans. Ryan played alongside me at BSC Glasgow and is a quality midfielder. Eddie scored the winning goal for Kilbirnie in the Ardagh Glass Cup final at Meadow Park last season and was also at Arthurlie for some of the season. He has been around for a few years but is still a young guy."

More signings will follow soon and Wilson said: "I have two other players lined up but can't say anything until after Wednesday and another could be added in later this week."

Meanwhile Wilson has brought in his former Kello Rovers assistant John Quinn as the duo will work closely together.

Wilson and Quinn first me when they coached at Queens Park. Quinn was there for five or six years, working under Gardner Speirs and last season he was assistant to Wilson at Kello Rovers as they led the Kirkconnel team to second place in the District League and promotion to the Super League.

Quinn has his B and coaching licences and is currently doing his UEFA A licence.

The management duo will work closely with general manager Brian Lamb, who will be concerned with finances and contracts.

Lamb, meanwhile, will be concerned only with finances and contracts and will have no involvement in team selection, tactics or playing matters.

Meadow fans can meet the manager on Sunday, July 2 in the Social Club.
