Irvine Meadow paraded their newest signings at Meadow Park on Monday.

Former Kilwinning Rangers defender Darren Miller and ex-Kello Rovers and East Kilbride goalkeeper Craig Gordon have joined up as Meadow look to secure promotion to the new-look Premiership for next season.

Miller started for Meadow as they made the trip east at the weekend to play Haddington Athletic at Millfield.

Eddie McTernan bagged a hat-trick while Dan McKay scored twice and Ryan Begley once as the away side ran out 6-0 winners.

Meadow chairman Robert Jeffrey was at the match and feels the new boys can aid their bid to get back to the top table.

He said: “I was at the match on Saturday and I saw the new signings. I think Darren Miller could have a good season for us.

“I think Saturday was a good learning experience for the new players and it helps preparations for the season.

“Promotion to the Premier is the main aim for us this season but I would like to see us do well in the cups.”

Meanwhile, Irvine Victoria lost out 3-0 to Neilston in the Hugh Blair Trophy at the Brig O’Lea Stadium on Saturday.

Vics had some of their new signings on show as Dylan Hamilton, Billy Arthur, Fraser McNab, Peter Wood and David Smith all took to the field.

Kilwinning Rangers comfortably saw off Rossvale 10-0 in their final pre-season fixture ahead of their first Ardagh Glass Section League Cup match against Kilbirnie Ladeside.
