McBookie Super League First Division
KILSYTH RANGERS 1
IRVINE MEADOW 3
SPIRITED Meadow gave their promotion hopes a huge boost with a hard-earned win at Duncanrig Park on Saturday.
They were awarded a penalty early on after David MacKay was brought down. The spot-kick was missed by Darren Miller but the referee again pointed to the spot after a visiting player was brought down from the rebound. Meadow netted at the second time of asking through skipper Ben Carson.
The lead was doubled when a Darren Miller header went in off the bar after a Carson corner-kick had been nodded on by Ryan Begley.
Jordan McGuire then hit the bar for the visitors after a great run from his own half.
Late in the first half, Jared Willet sent a great lob over the goalie after a nice ball over the top from Mackay to make it 3-0.
Five minutes after the break Kilsyth pulled a goal back, but Medda held on to win.
IRVINE MEADOW: Newman; Hannah, Willet, Gow, Begley, MacKay, Carson, Spence, Miller, Dickie, McGuire. Subs: Black, Clark, Boyle.
