RIVERSIDE U17s 2

KFA U17s 4

THE U17s made the journey to Stirling on Sunday to face Riverside.

KFA went in deservedly at half time 3-0 ahead with a double from Kerry and a strike from Aimee.

Twenty minutes into the second half, Riverside pounced on a tired and confused KFA defence and scored, making it 3-1.

With just five minutes left, a deep cross into the KFA box was delivered and a challenge of two players going for a header resulted in a penalty for the hosts, much to the surprise of parents and coaches from both sets of teams surprise. Credit to the riverside striker who dispatched the penalty without hesitation.

With only minutes remaining and the girls running on empty, it was set up for a nervy finish but KFA U17 captain Beth had other ideas and drew on her last bit of strength and, as the ball broke on the edge of the Riverside area, she fought to put the defence under pressure and she got the reward and drilled the ball home.

KFA U13s were in action on Sunday in the 41st Ayr Scotland Cup, a well-run tournament at the fantastic venue of Rozelle Park.

They played three games in the group. Firstly against Bonnyton Black, Ruby put them in front and with the last kick of the ball, Bonnyton levelled.

In the second game against a strong Queen of the South, a team, the girls matched them in all areas but were unlucky to lose 1-0 when a draw might have been a fairer result. In the third game against Ayr United, the girls were unlucky in first two games so were determined to get a result. With good team play, a hat-trick from Leah and one for Aimee, the girls ran out 4-0 winners.

The girls finished the group third so played the Group B semi-final for the Ayr Trophy against Dean Thistle

With the heat taking its toll, all the teams did well wit great play and team work. Goals from Nina Leah, Cara and Sophie gave the girls victory to set up a final against EKFC. With the long day and heat taking effect both teams battled out a 0-0 draw. Extra-time still could not find a winner and EK won on penalties

KFA U11s

A REAL goal fest for the U11s away to Cumnock.

Played in very warm conditions, the girls got back to winning ways in real style.

Some stunning strikes, great team goals and pieces of individual brilliance (Leah Buxton) saw them enjoy a huge victory with goals coming from the whole of the midfield and front line. We were also solid at the back thanks to Carrie and Sarah and even Rosa had time to have an almost perfect penalty shoot record at the end.

KFA Bayern 06

ANOTHER well deserved win for the boys, with a 5-1 victory against Tass Thistle, Every player was working hard and digging deep for one another

Goalscorers: Zach Hill (2) Joshua, Aidyn Collins, Kenzie Robertson.

Man of the match: Kenzie Robertson
