A Stewarton football club is aiming to show dog fouling the red card after an online plea.
Stewarton Annick FC says its young players are regularly forced to lift dog waste during the first few minutes of every session at Cocklebie Park in the town.
Teams from the club play at the park to ease congestion at the Rose Reilly Sports Centre, and also to give young footballers from the area a chance to play on grass.
However, the club has now warned residents about letting their dogs poo on the grass and not picking it up.
A spokesperson said: "Cocklebie is looking good, and will be cut regularly throughout the summer.
"However, the kids are still having to spend the first few minutes of sessions scanning for and lifting dog poo.
"We are big dog fans at Stewarton Annick, but would politely ask anyone using the area for exercising your dog to please clean up afterwards.
"Don't end up with a red card for persistent fouling."
