Victory continues winning form
FAST-RISING Irvine boxer Ryan Brawley is being lined up for a Celtic Title fight which could open the door for a British Championship bid.
The 23-year-old southpaw is now unbeaten in 14 fights after comfortably outpointing journeyman pro Jason Nesbitt at the St Andrew's Sporting Club on Monday night.
Promoter Tommy Gilmour Jnr is now hoping Brawley, who lifted the coveted Prizefighter crown in March, can soon progress through the ranks.
After the fight, a jubilant Brawley told the Irvine Times: "That was one of my best performances against a fighter with a lot of experience and the great thing is that all the things I had been working on in the gym in the last few weeks, including jabbing and body shots came off."
A proud Gilmour added: "It;s been a busy time for Ryan becoming a dad earlier in the year and I am delighted for him. My bid is in for the Celtic title and I am hoping to have the fight in February."
