KILMARNOCK 1

ABERDEEN 2

TWO late defensive blunders cost Killie as the Dons came from behind to win this live TV encounter.

Caretaker boss Lee McCulloch could take positives despite the defeat and said: "We did all right in the first half and frustrated Aberdeen. We scored a goal and it was a fantastic finish from Rory McKenzie. I told them to keep playing the way they had been in the second half but there was a crazy six to eight minutes and the first goal was down to an error. The boys applied themselves and worked hard. I am disappointed. It would have been sweet if we got three points but it wasn't to be."

Good work by home player Jordan Jones forced a corner-kick in two minutes but it came to nothing.

The Dons forged a good opening in seven minutes but Niall McGinn shot over the bar from eight yards. Then two minutes later Ryan Christie headed just over the bar from six yards.

Freddie Woodman skilfully blocked a McGinn effort from eight yards in 13 minutes. Visiting goalie Ben Lewis raced out to save at Kris Boyd's feet in 22 minutes.

A cross-cum shot into the box from 25 yards by Greg Taylor was easily saved by Lewis in 28 minutes.

Ash Taylor aimed a pass at Adam Rooney in 35 minutes but Woodman saved easily.

Killie blasted into the lead in 41 minutes when Greg Taylor made a run and crossed into the box where a Jones cutback was turned home from the edge of the box by Rory McKenzie.

Steven Smith floated a 22-yard free-kick wide in 43 minutes.

Killie were denied a stonewall penalty in the opening minute of the second half when Conor Samson was huckled to the ground by Taylor.

The hosts came close again in 56 minutes when a rifling drive from 20 yards by Steven Smith glanced just over the bar. At the other end Ryan Jack's header from six yards went narrowly over the bar.

Boyd then sent a 20-yard effort just over the bar in 59 minutes.

The Dons levelled in 83 minutes when Miles Addison misjudged a clearance and Jayden Stockley shot home. A minute later they went ahead when substitute Peter Pawlett thundered through ball home from 16 yards with the ball taking a deflection off the hapless Addison.
