CAYFA U16 Supplementary Cup Semi-Final

KILWINNING RANGERS 4

CUMNOCK JUNIORS 0

THE Wee Buffs marched into the final on Sunday with an impressive home win over a Cumnock Juniors side who have struggled to find their feet this season.

Buffs had a lot of the ball in the opening stages but couldn't make the possession tell.

In 17 minutes Cameron Lee did well to steal possession and get a low cross in under pressure and Dan Watson took one touch to control and rattled the ball home from 20 yards.

Cumnock were dangerous on the break and their main threat came from set-pieces but they could not pass home goalie Adam Boyd.

Thomas Johnston made it 2-0 in 35 minutes with a great free-kick from the right touchline.

Buffs made four substitutions at half-time and as a result lost a bit of momentum for a period after the restart, but they soon got back on track.

The visiting goalie made some great stops before Johnston eventually got past him on the hour. Keiran Larmour won the ball, beat two men and sent a slide rule pass in behind the defence for Johnston to run on and place the ball past the keeper.

Buffs sealed the win with a late strike. Larmour played the ball down the channel for Ben O'Neil to chase down and he fired in a great low cross for Ong Duff to tap home.
