CLARK Drive Girls Whites finally arranged a pre-season game against Ayr United and did themselves proud with a 10-6 victory on Saturday.

Seven of the nine players have just moved up from U11s, two of them still eligible for that age group - Erin Hanlon, who turned in her usually tidy performance and Sophie Dewar notched three cracking goals.

Other scorers were Sophie Corbett with five, Lori Strachan and Caitlin Welsh.

In goals Skye MacIntyre continues to improve.

At the back Emily Carter was immense with some timely challenges and great distribution and Morgan Zalensky made her debut and showed great promise with power, pace and a good eye for a pass. Chloe Dearie, who did well wide right and was unfortunate not to score with a neat shot from six yards.

Thanks to Jamie Shephard who stepped in at the last minute to referee

Clark Drive Girls Blues played Port Glasgow at Parklea Playing fields in their first league game of the season on Sunday.

The girls were excellent from kick off until the game finished. The game was played on astroturf and it seemed to suit our free flowing football style. Their passing, tackling and shooting were all on the money.

Squad: Skye; Aimee, Abigail, Millie, Abbey, Stephanie, Amie, Vanessa and Jodi.

They were delighted to return from Port Glasgow with three points.

The U9s and U11s, meanwhile opened their season at the South West Regional Festival at KSC on Sunday and both age groups did themselves proud with two teams (blues & whites) at both age groups.

All the coaches were really pleased with the quality of football on show with some fantastic goals and great team work.

It was great to see Kenna Gentles, Ava Ann McCabe, Caitlyn Owens, Eva Owen and Jessica McConnell making their Drive debuts.

They would like to thank Shirley Martin from the SFA and KSC for organising today's festival. The U11s now look forward to their seasons fixtures starting on Sunday and the U9s are playing in the Fun Fours at Caledonian FC in Prestwick.

Thanks goes to parents for all their support at the weekend.
