DIRRANS ATHLETIC 4

GALSTON UNITED 0

DIRRANS returned to winning ways after a great home win against a good Galston team.

The visitors started well with John Pirie and Stephen Cochrane linking up well to create chances. However good goalkeeping and defending kept the scoreline 0-0 at half-time.

After the break Dirrans went for the opening goal and in 55 minutes they made the breakthrough with a fine strike from 30 yards by Stephen Cochrane.

The second goal came soon after when Jamie Dunlop bundled home from close range for his first goal for the club.

Goal number three came from the penalty spot after Scott Milne got pulled back in the box with Pirie doing the business.

There was then a memorable moment for Alan Frew who after just over a year from his triple leg break scored his first goal since coming back, and every player went over to congratulate him.

That was a great way to round off what was a fine all-round performance from the Kilwinning side.
