Fiona Brown U15 League
KSC GIRLS 3
QUEEN OF THE SOUTH 1
A GLORIOUS treble was sealed by KSC U15s when they secured the league title on Sunday with a win against Queens at Abbey Park.
In front of a supportive crowd KSC were first to get the opening goal with a long range effort from Kerry Hutcheon. This settled the home side's nerves but a terrific free- kick from the visitors made it 1-1 at half-time.
As the second half started. there wasn't much between the teams but following a through ball Beth Baird collected on the edge of the 18-yard box, she turned and drilled into the bottom corner to put KSC back in front.
As the game drew to a close KSC were awarded a corner with five minutes remaining. An outswinging delivery from Baird was perfectly met by Hutcheon, who bulleted the header into the net to end the scoring for the day 3-1.
As the final whistle sounded, the girls rightly took the applause of all the supporters for finishing the season unbeaten in the league against a side who until Sunday had also been undefeated.
Victory sealed a third honour of the season for the girls team following the Bank of Scotland Midnight League and League Cup successes.
Thanks go to everyone today associated with Kilwinning Rangers for allowing them the opportunity to play at Abbey Park, where the surface was fantastic and a credit to the Dumfries visitors for making the game competitive and entertaining.
KSC squad: Sophie McKay; Eilidh Martin, Ella Duncan, Caitlyn McMillan, Kerry Hutcheon, Erin Kerr, Molly Houston, Aimee Taggart, Beth Baird, Scarlett Ross, Sarah Cunningham, Ayli Grant, Hayley Ann Hoy, Morgan Wilkie, Bryony Dunne.
