CELTIC and Rangers legends will be in action at a special challenge match being held in Irvine next month.

Old Firm Legends is being played at Meadow Park on Sunday, June 3, ko 2pm.

The Celtic side will be managed by former player Frank McGarvey, while his former rival Derek Johnstone is in charge of the Rangers team.

Wearing the captain's armband for Celtic is Simon Donnelly, while Charlie Miller will do the honours for Rangers.

The Celtic side also includes Bobby Petta, Rudi Vata, Mark Burchill and Mark Wilson, while the Rangers team features Alex Rae, Marvin Andrews and Bob Malcolm.

People attending can also pay £100 to play and aside from the honour of having their jersey hung on the pegs before taking to the field and they can meet both sets of players, as well as taking part in a question and answer session with them.

A good cause will be supported and on the day a food drive will be held to help support the Foodbank in the area. People are encouraged to bring tins of soup, beans and other essential items which would help people in the area.

For youngsters there will be a bouncy castle, which should prove popular.

Admission will be £10 and £5 for concessions and can only be paid on the day. Organisers will distribute free passes for youngsters to schools throughout the community.
