Irvine Meadow 6 Troon 1

STRIKING sensation Emilio Jaconelli bagged the second five-goal haul of his Meadow career as the Stagecoach Super League Premier Division leaders swept away Troon in a one-sided contest on Monday night.

After a determined show of defending from the visitors former Raith Rovers man Jaconelli helped Meadow make the breakthrough and his side never looked back as they set up a semi-final showdown at home to Annbank United.

The deadlock was finally broken in 23 minutes as Barr sent a fine through ball to Jaconelli to drill the ball home from eight yards.

The lead was doubled a minute later as Gareth Turner teed up Barr to smash the ball home from 12 yards. It was three and easy in 36 minutes as a strong Mark Crilly effort was saved and Jaconelli popped home the rebound from six yards. Chris Strain Junior limped off to be replaced by Paul Walker seconds later. Then in the substitute"s first action he slipped a through ball to Jaconelli to net from four yards.

Meadow went nap in 40 minutes as a Crilly effort was well saved by Johnson but Jaconelli slipped home the follow-up.

Troon pulled back a consolation goal in 51 minutes as ex-Meadow man John McDonald smashed a 25-yard free-kick low into the bottom corner.

Then a minute from time Meadow set the seal on an emphatic win when Jaconelli thundered the ball home from 12 yards.
