FORMER Girvan FC boss Billy Thomson has been appointed manager of Kilwinning Rangers.
He was officially announced as boss late on Tuesday night, just four days after the resignation of Gary Faulds.
Thomson brings his ex-Auchinleck Talbot team-mate and one time Abbey Park manager Ross Findlay as his assistant. He secured the job ahead of Faulds' number two Stevie Moore.
And the duo will take charge from the start of pre-season training next week as they bid to revive the club following their relegation to the Stagecoach Ayrshire District League.
Buffs secretary Andy Martin said: "We are delighted to have Billy on board, he lives locally and is likely to bring in local talent and that was a major factor. He has also done really well at Girvan and previously Ardeer Thistle.
