SIX OF THE BEST: Billy Thomson's outfit comfortably overcame Ardeer.
Kilwinning Rangers 6 v 1 Ardeer Thistle
A GLORIOUS hat-trick from man of the match Mark Ferris saw Buffs demolish 10-man Thistle to chalk up their first victory in the District League.
Billy Thomson's men started very strongly in this North Ayrshire derby and scored in four minutes when Anton Houston sent a lovely pass which found Mark Ferris in the clear just over the halfway line and he raced in and virtually walked the ball round the keeper and into the back of the net.
Ardeer levelled five minutes later when the centre-half sent forward a wind-assisted shot and following a mix-up between Chris Wozencroft and goalkeeper John McDougall and Dougie Ellis slotted the ball into the net.
Buffs pounded the Thistle goal for the rest of the match as they eased to victory.
