Special praise from boss for midfielder Haggarty after win

PROUD boss Chris Strain saluted midfield ace Frank Haggarty as his late wonder goal helped IRVINE MEADOW end a three game losing streak on Saturday.

The former Glenafton Athletic ace netted the victory-clinching goal as Meadow avenged their Ardagh Glass Cup semi-final defeat at the hands of Kilbirnie Ladeside, defeating them 3-1 at Valefield Park.

Haggarty was beset with injury problems in his first season at Meadow Park but has bounced back in style and the boss has high hopes for him.

"Frank scored a smashing goal for us on Saturday.

"He had a few injury problems last season but if he can steer clear of them he should do well."
