Spoils shared at Meadow Park
Irvine Meadow 2 v 2 Pollok
A LATE penalty denied Meadow three points against Glasgow giants Pollok in a pulsating match at a rain-sodden Meadow Park on Saturday.
Meadow pushed forward from the outset and within 60 seconds reinstated striker Brian McGinty pulled his effort narrowly wide.
Pollok responded and twice hit the woodwork in the opening period.
However Chris Strain's side broke the deadlock on the 40th minute when Strain Jnr's low cross was slotted home by David Hamilton.
Brian Dingwall snatched an equaliser on half time but a second half Brian McGinty penalty restored the home side's lead.
Four minutes from the end Pollok were awarded a spot kick of their own which was duly converted by David Turnbull.
