BOSS Rab Madden this week hit out at the red-carding of IRVINE VICTORIA striker Rod Lennox and the referee's overall display in the 2-0 home win against Darvel in the Stagecoach Ayrshire District League.
He said: "I felt for Rod on Saturday, the two markers kicked him black and blue his first yellow was for asking for some protection!.
"Overall I thought the referee had a poor match."
But added the boss: "I was delighted to get the win, given that we went down to ten men for the last half hour. The clean sheet was a bonus and we got the goals at the right time which gave us the cushion. I felt we comfortable, although Darvel did have one or two half chances near the end, which if one had gone in could have made it very nervy."
Looking ahead to Saturday's home game against Kello Madden said: "It was very important that we get another win on Saturday at home to Kello who have now lost a few games, we hope to test their nerve. We have a few aches and pains a few of our lads needed treatment on Monday (Rod Lennox, Gillies, Gareth Timoney, Kevin Adam and Craig Connell). Lennox, Adam (groin) and Connell (calf) are all doubtful for Saturday.
"On the plus side Brian Smith will return to the squad after missing the game through work commitments."
